Overview
Phoebe is an experienced trial and appellate advocate in commercial and intellectual property law. She specialises in patent and intellectual property law (copyright, trade marks, designs, confidential information), general commercial law, competition and consumer protection law, and data protection and privacy law. She also practices in alternative dispute resolution and arbitration and is a Member of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre’s List of Neutrals.
Phoebe has appeared in many high profile and complex cases representing clients across a range of industries including mining, telecommunications, consumer goods, pharmaceutical (originator and generic), life sciences, finance, and government. Phoebe regularly appears in the Federal Court of Australia (at trial and on appeal in all registries), in the High Court, in the Patents Office, the Trade Marks Office, the Copyright Tribunal, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, in all state courts and tribunals, and in arbitrations and mediations. Phoebe is also admitted to practice as an attorney in New York (United States).
Prior to the Bar, Phoebe worked as a solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now Mallesons), a preeminent Australian corporate law firm, and was an Associate to the Hon. Justice Annabelle AC SC of the Federal Court of Australia.
Phoebe is a member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Law Council of Australia and is a volunteer lawyer at Arts Law Australia. She is the co-author of the chapter “Infringement of Trade Marks” in the authoritative intellectual property commentary “Patents, Trade Marks and Related Rights” (Lahore, LexisNexis) (continuing).
