Overview

Jessie has a broad practice, and specialises in all areas of intellectual property, general commercial law, competition law, and consumer law and trade practices.

Jessie has experience appearing for clients before the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of NSW, District Court, Local Court, the Trade Marks Office and the Patents Office. As a solicitor, Jessie also has experience acting for clients before the High Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Since being called to the Bar, Jessie has developed a strong practice in complex intellectual property litigation, including having acted in cases concerning patents, trade marks, copyright, confidential information and commercial disputes. Her work in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors is supported by a strong scientific background and experience in in the medical research and pharmaceutical industries.  Jessie also has a strong general commercial practice, having appeared led and unled in the Supreme, District and Local Courts of NSW.

Jessie has been recognised in Doyles Guide as a Leading Intellectual Property Junior Counsel – NSW, 2025 and 2026.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Jessie was a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology team at DLA Piper, where she specialised in life sciences litigation, and an Associate in the Intellectual Property team at Allens, where she worked on a broad range of litigious and commercial intellectual property matters.

Jessie holds a Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the University of New South Wales, graduating with an Order of Merit, and a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney. Before becoming a solicitor, she worked in medical research for 3 years in the fields of molecular biology and bioinformatics. She has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in relation to this research.
